Tarot reader offering personalized, choice-driven readings that meet clients where they are and empower them to shape their own life journey.

About Me

For as long as I can remember, I have found magic and meaning in things that most people wouldn’t think to look. Sharing the wisdom, joy, and connection I find has become my life’s calling.

I started reading tarot professionally in 2017 at a cozy little tea shop in Waterville, Maine. A year later, I began teaching classes in New Jersey about witchcraft, ethical magic, and divination. Today, I am established in Chicago and professionally offering my services full-time! My approach is to meet you where you are, and help you acknowledge the stage of your journey you are on. I treat my readings like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. Every experience is unique to you and the choices that you make. I believe that we are all in control of our own personal destiny- Let me empower you so you can change the outcome of your story.

Q&A with Storm Orion

  1. 1. Tell us a bit about you and your practice.

Hi! I'm Storm (any pronouns), and I'm your friendly neighborhood oracle! I got my magical start by leaving out offerings for the fae at five years and befriending the crows around my home. Today, I work closely with Aphrodite and The Morrigan, my ancestors, and many others whom I meet in passing. My eccentric practice is based on intention, community, and the fact that we all need to stop taking ourselves so seriously!

My mom taught me the basics of divination, and it has always felt like a way to connect with others in a more intentional way than just a conversation. When I was unable to articulate my emotions, I would use tarot. When I feel stuck in a conflict, I draw playing cards. When things feel foggy, I scry. Finding clarity in the unknown chaos is my calling.

  2. 2. What moment or realization made astrology and/or tarot “click” for you in a real, lived way?

It was the day my mom sat me down on her bedroom floor. I had bought myself an old, pre-owned RWS tarot deck online, and she was very excited to teach me to heighten my intuition. She tossed the paper guidebook to the side, drew a card, and started asking me questions like "What story does this tell?" "What feelings does this card draw out?" and "What lesson can this card teach us?"

I had learned playing card readings a bit earlier in life, but it never clicked the way that tarot did. Now, I teach people with a combination of my mom's methods and add my own spin on things.

  3. 3. What’s something most people misunderstand about astrology and/or tarot that you’re always gently correcting?

People believe that tarot is a concrete way of determining your fate. We are creatures of free will, and although tarot has some magical, unknown elements, it is truly a conduit for looking at a person's journey. During readings, I will often tell folks that if they don't like the outcome you pull, we can look into actionable ways to break these patterns and cycles.

  4. 4. Tell us your thoughts on the astrology of 2026 and how it’s likely showing up in people’s everyday lives right now.

Astrology has never been a strength of mine, but based on what I know, some wild things are going on with the planets! My astrology practice is mostly based on moon phases and magic that corresponds with those energies, and this year's new moons have already been providing some extra-powerful transformative energy.

  5. 5. What’s a recurring life theme you see in your readings right now (love, career pivots, endings, rebirth, boundaries), and how do you help people work with it instead of resisting it?

A lot of folks (myself included) have had some concerns with the state of the world, especially those living in the US. There is a lot out of our control right now, and although timelines can feel uncertain, it is wonderful to be able to sit down and help people find clarity and the things they can individually change in their lives.

  6. 6. When someone comes to you feeling stuck, what part of the chart do you look at first and why? If you do tarot or another practice, tell us about your process for this.

If someone feels stuck, I often start with a spread I created called the Storybook, or a mini version called the Snapshot. These spreads give a bird's-eye view into a person's current journey, as well as where they're coming from and where they're heading. This spread is all about the cycles and patterns affecting a person's life, and then as things come up, we can dissect certain elements and details.

  7. 7. When someone is trying to understand their love life more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?

As a love witch, many folks come to me with questions about their love life. I always suggest analyzing and healing the self first. Trying to understand your personal wants and needs is the first step to figuring out how love should move within and around you. In readings, I often use a heart-shaped love spread that is great for reading couples or helping someone discover traits in an ideal partner.

  8. 8. When someone is trying to understand their career life or work/ purpose more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?

When someone asks about their career or purpose, I often look to the suits of the minor arcana that they draw. This will often show where their priorities lie. For example, if someone has a lot of pentacles in their reading, it may mean that their priority is having enough financial stability to thrive. If wands show up, the priority is passion and the sense of doing something fulfilling. As most tarot rules go, I often break them, but it's always really interesting to see the patterns that show up.

  9. 9. What’s one small but meaningful practice or reflection you’d recommend people try based on their natal chart or reading?

SELF-CARE!! Just about every person I read needs more of it. We are the ones who understand ourselves the most, and we should provide ourselves with the energy and nourishment that we need. This is something that looks so different for every individual. As an Aphrodite devotee, I personally feel called to encourage unapologetic self-love and care.

  10. 10. What are your favorite decks + resources that you think people should know about?

As for resources, building community is super important now more than ever! As someone who partners with local libraries to teach people tarot in an accessible way, PLEASE utilize those spaces so they continue to be funded. The more those free resources are used, the more likely they are to stick around. It is imperative that we save some of the last real third spaces we have.

Extra note: One of my favorite books on tarot is Queering the Tarot by Cassandra Snow, and some of my favorite decks are the Halloween Tarot and the Queer Tarot.
