About Me
Hey, I’m Amanda
I’m a professionally-trained Relocation Astrologer, Astro-Brand Designer, and Assistant Astrology Teacher for Helena Woods. I “accidentally” spent almost a decade on my Saturn, Chiron and Pluto ACG lines, which happens to be the exact spot where I became an Astrologer!
So around here, we know a thing or two about a challenging map. I’m here to show you where your biggest teacher ↪ your greatest gift.
Together, we’ll break down the “astrology of place”, so you can start thriving today – no matter where you’re at.

Q&A with Map Your Magic
1. Tell us a bit about you and your practice.
I use Relocation Astrology and Astrocartography to help people find their best place in the world, so they can know when AND where to go with 100% confidence. In an age when so many people are talking about Astrocartography (and literally no one was until very recently) there is a lot of misinformation out there which I think is crazy! I mean relocation represents one of the biggest and most important life decisions and takes a ton of resources especially if we're talking about a long distance or international move. At the end of the day i'm a truth-teller, I tell it exactly how it is, and I will let you know ALL sides of the story, and how you can can benefits from EVERY location on the map.
My love language is working with digital nomads and people that want to build a location-independent lifestyle. With people that have challenging astrocartography, who can't move or don't want to leave their home community (yes there is a way we can use this without even leaving where we are). As a relocation astrologer often we're meeting with someone only once or twice because a lot of people come into my world when they want to find their "forever home." I work with people who want to use location AND timing to live in the most aligned places on the planet that will help them rediscover their resilience, creativity and build a business they love, no matter where they are. I'm also an Astro-brand designer which means i draw on my 25 years of branding + design and work with clients who want to brand the "soul of their business" and this can get so interesting when we start to layer in the astrocartography too. As astrologers we are so lucky. We know exactly, down to an individual level who our people are whether that's clients or community. When you start to bring in relocation astrology with business astrology then we can also see WHERE in the world they are, travel to those lines (especially when there is supportive collective astrology too).
I'm also living and breathing this work and am doing what most locational astrologers aren't. I gave up my apartment on Summer Solstice 2025 and signed up for Trusted Housesitters to fund my trip. I am really here to show to people that you don't need a lot or resources to live this way IF you want to start "living your lines" right now. I have been travelling up and down the west coast ever since. I don't have a permanent address. I literally haven't paid rent in 9 months. I go from one location to the next. The most important part about living this way is while running my astrology + design businesses, I go wherever my housesitting clients are. So i am not choosing the 'best' place as it where, but I am getting uniquely skilled at being able to show up on any ACG line, any paran (latitude line) and learning what I can from the energy that is there – even when its challenging!
2. What moment or realization made astrology and/or tarot “click” for you in a real, lived way?
My challenging Astrocartography is what brought me to the practice in the first place. For years I looked to literally every modality, worked with every type of healer, took every class I could to get to the root cause of what I was being asked to navigate. What I didn't know at the time was I had moved to the hardest place in the world for me, from an ACG perspective. I was also going through perimenopause, and had moved and was living in Los Angeles during my Saturn AND Uranus opposition. I was literally living in an astrocartography vortex. I had SIX in the region where i was living, but I was living 10 miles from the biggest "teacher" in my chart. I could tell you some stories for sure!
The moment it clicked was when I took my first Relocation Astrology course with my teacher Helena Woods. When I saw the concentration of the energy in one place that often we don't see that level of convergence unless we're looking at the arctic places on the map and saw how close I was living to my biggest challenge I immediately knew why I had moved to that place.
3. What’s something most people misunderstand about astrology and/or tarot that you’re always gently correcting?
There is no "bad" map. Whatever is there is there for your benefit. Nothing is working against you. We can see this in the chart too since the map at the end of the day is just software that visualizes your relocation chart. So actually the medicine you need is wherever you see the challenge express itself in the chart, so I think its something you can look forward to in a way. Enjoy the ride!
4. Tell us your thoughts on the astrology of 2026 and how it’s likely showing up in people’s everyday lives right now.
I think its much bigger than that but if we're talking year long transits then its really important to look at Jupiter which is leaving its place of exaltation this summer. If you're making plans to move I'd look at how it shows up for you personally. This is the year where we don't get to hide anymore. Where we cut out the nonsense and move forward and do the thing no matter what with absolute unfiltered authenticity. This isn't about curating anymore. No matter what anyway says. If you've been invisible you won't be anymore especially when Jupiter moves in Leo. If you struggle with confidence and visibility this theme will both get louder and I think this will be easier for us to connect with if you've been waiting in the wings. The ways in which approach technology, social media and innovation are going to rapidly change as Uranus is about to switch signs and move into Gemini. We're seeing this already. Have you seen more content in your feed that's digitally created but with an analog perspective or feel? Do things suddenly feel more like Livejournal again (if you remember that)? Look to your natal and your relocated natal chart and see what area of life that's going to affect. For those of us where Uranus is moving into the 11th, i think this will be particularly potent, this is your time to focus on your community building and I wonder what this means for short-form content too.
5. What’s a recurring life theme you see in your readings right now (love, career pivots, endings, rebirth, boundaries), and how do you help people work with it instead of resisting it?
Moving and how to work with ACG when you can't (and don't want) to leave. This is going to depend on your own chart signatures of course. Some of us want to stay, show up and fight for our communities. ACG can help you do that too. This has been a big theme since Jupiter moved into Cancer last year. You can do this with remote activation which is exactly what it sounds like. You're literally drawing in that energy of that place you aren't currently in through people, experiences and even objects.
Also i love relocating the local space lines for this. You can do this yourself on astro.com. Its a bit like a compass in Astrocartography but they aren't the ACG lines. They are directional. So distance doesn't come into play here. Since i have been living nomadically since last year and often change my location every weeks, if not days, I work with them all the time. You'll have to go back to your natal chart to understand what they mean for you personally, but i'm a Virgo rising so I'm often finding my Mercury lines in a location when i'm writing e-mails, meeting a client or working on marketing. That's just one example. So then you can cross-reference the map with local businesses to find the places that are on the line. It has to be either right on it or right next to it.
6. When someone comes to you feeling stuck, what part of the chart do you look at first and why? If you do tarot or another practice, tell us about your process for this.
1st house and ruler is ALWAYS the most important place to look. Of course its not just PLACE its TIMING. So they might have planetary transits from outer planets hitting a key placement in the chart. A challenging relationship between Saturn and the 1st house could keep someone in a place (or part of their life) longer than expected – this is exactly what happened to me.
Another high level tool I love is just to peep the angular places of the chart and see what's going on there. In whole sign astrology which I use, this means you'll always have mutable signs (Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini) in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses. However, and this is where location gets so interesting is let's say this person moves somewhere where their RELOCATION chart puts fixed signs like Leo in their first house. What happens when someone has a planet in that Leo that tends to resist that sign (like Saturn in Leo). You've got a perfect recipe for feeling a bit restricted, and maybe a desire to move but that's not in the cards for them. btw – this is my story, so I have a long term experience with this one. I always would move somewhere new, even within my own city every 1 year or even less. I have Sagittarius in my 4th which is not such a big surprise for someone that ends up doing this type of work, but its this constantly evolving and adapting relationship with place that keeps me grounded. But for someone born with a fixed sign in the 4th house it would play out completely differently.
7. When someone is trying to understand their love life more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?
Everyone is so locked into Venus all the time. Can it represent relationships in the chart? Yes. Does it matter if Venus is in the middle of the ocean? Absolutely not. I'm much more interested in the planetary ruler of their DSC / 7th house, and how aspects to those placements provide further nuance to the way 1:1 connection shows us for them. As an Astrocartographer, I'm also looking to their paran lines (latitude lines and SOO key) that might be adding another layer and influence how relationship stories might play out in their current location.
8. When someone is trying to understand their career life or work/ purpose more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?
This is one of my favorite things to look at! I'm a Double Cap, and do a lot of business astrocartography readings, astro-branding projects and work with digital nomads.
So this gets sooo interesting with place, because if a career is lets say not unfolding the way its has in the past, if someone is being pushed to evolve and make a change, or they want to emphasize a certain area of career, we can see how place can change this over time.
Again with whole sign astrology, you'll have the same ELEMENT in the career places in the chart. I love to start there. Without even reading specifics we can get so much information from whether or not we have a fire, earth, air or water signature in the parts of the chart that speaks to our value, how we generate resources and steward wealth, our relationship with the teams that support our daily work and our long-game vision and legacy for the important work we are here to do. So, if someone has air signs in those places then relational ways are going to be important. I'll take myself as an example. I have Pluto in Libra in my 2nd. I have also been working in design + branding for 25 years. That's where i have the capability of re-inventing myself and my power is initiating those relationships through the language of design. If i ever deny that story, then certain lessons are going to crop up.
Or if we saw water signs there someone may have an inclination towards careers that take care of others, that tend to someones needs around home, community and safety (epicurean + retreat host comes to mind).
Then like anything else, we dig in deeper. We look at the planetary ruler of the 2nd, 6th and 10th house AND the Midheaven (MC). We look at aspects, and we look at whether this story is heightened in the location, or if some other career might be coming online since we may have different planets and signs in the place we relocated to. That's when i feel career focuses can really, really change.
9. What’s one small but meaningful practice or reflection you’d recommend people try based on their natal chart or reading?
Electional astrology is a huge part of my practice. I love using it because you can decide what to act on, based on the energy of a place at a certain time, but doesn't require an individual birth chart (though personal transits are incredibly important too!)
If you want to know when to post something or have a successful launch get good planets in good placements in the 10th or 11th house. The key is to get something supportive, lets say Jupiter for example as its in one of its strongest signs right now. Take action with that Jupiter when its 0-1 degree from the Midheaven angle and you may find the magic happen.
10. What are your favorite decks + resources that you think people should know about?
I'm doing my first decan walk! Hands down I love this reprint of Le Tarot Astrologique. You can find it over at the Golden Fawn

If you want to learn Astrocartography and locational astrology and are coming as a beginner and haven't studied natal astrology I cannot recommend Helena Woods enough. I'm also on her team full disclosure, but I was a total beginner when I started, she is so giving, and I wouldn't be doing this without her.
Working with her changed my life in every possible way, and I finally learned how to work with (instead of against) the energy in my chart and map.
