About Me
Hi, my name is Akosua Boateng. I’m a Western tropical Hellenistic astrologer with six years of experience, Ghanaian-American raised in Las Vegas. I discovered astrology while earning my Master’s degree in Public Health in Southern California—I was working at a metaphysical shop at the time, and the women there introduced me to the basics. I did a deep dive and have been in love with the stars ever since.
I specialize in predictive astrology, with a focus on Solar Return and Lunar Return charts. My work is solutions-oriented: I help clients map timing, make aligned decisions, and understand the cycles shaping their lives.
I have Mercury in Virgo, exalted in astrology, which gives me a natural gift for precision, analysis, and intuitive pattern recognition. I regularly work with women, BIPOC clients, and other marginalized groups, and I run a private astrology group with members from around the world—we explore current events and global cycles through the astrological lens.
I can’t wait to work with you and help bring clarity and direction to your path!

Q&A with Akosua
1. Tell us a bit about you and your practice.
I’m a Western tropical Hellenistic astrologer.
I came across astrology while living in Los Angeles — where “What’s your sign?” felt less like small talk and more like an initiation ritual. What started as curiosity quickly became study.
I’ve trained through Kepler College and studied Hellenistic astrology with Chris Brennan, building a practice rooted in traditional techniques and structural analysis. I read charts through house rulers, sect, timing cycles, return charts, and degree-based nuance — not just personality traits.
My work focuses on relationship dynamics, the 7th house blueprint, karmic timing, and the “why now?” behind major life transitions. I approach astrology as something lived and embodied — Saturn returns, Pluto chapters, identity shifts, and the slow work of maturation.
If you’re looking for depth, context, and precision in your reading, you’re in the right place.
2. What moment or realization made astrology and/or tarot “click” for you in a real, lived way?
Astrology clicked for me when it stopped being personality descriptions and started explaining timing. Living in Los Angeles, “What’s your sign?” was everywhere, but it wasn’t until I began studying house rulers and return charts that I saw how specific it could be.
Watching major life events line up with my Saturn return and Pluto transits made it real. It wasn’t abstract symbolism anymore, it was structure. It was cause, season, consequence. That’s when I realized astrology isn’t aesthetic. It’s architectural.
3. What’s something most people misunderstand about astrology and/or tarot that you’re always gently correcting?
Most people think astrology is about traits — “I’m a Leo, so I’m dramatic.” I’m always gently reminding them that astrology is about context and timing.
It’s not just what you are. It’s when things activate, which house a planet rules, and how different parts of your chart talk to each other.
Astrology isn’t fatalistic, and it’s not random. It’s a symbolic clock. When you understand the structure, you understand the season you’re in.
4. Tell us your thoughts on the astrology of 2026 and how it’s likely showing up in people’s everyday lives right now.
I think 2026 is going to feel louder; mentally, culturally, and socially.
With Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini, we’re entering a distinctly Air-heavy era. Air amplifies information, discourse, media, and collective conversation. I expect an acceleration in publishing, independent media, podcasts, newsletters, and intellectual communities. There may even be a renewed interest in physical bookstores and tangible learning spaces as people look for more intentional engagement with ideas.
At the same time, I suspect social media as we know it may shift. Not necessarily disappear, but fragment. Uranus in Gemini can disrupt communication systems, and Pluto in Aquarius transforms collective platforms. I could see a move toward smaller, niche networks , something more decentralized, perhaps even reminiscent of early internet culture where communities felt more personal and less algorithmically engineered.
Neptune and Saturn in Aries add another layer. Aries brings initiative, fire, and immediacy. While Saturn is traditionally in its fall in Aries, I see this combination as setting a new tone around individual agency. People may feel compelled to act, to define themselves, to take risks, to stand independently, even if they’re still figuring it out in real time.
Overall, 2026 feels like a pivot year: louder conversations, faster ideas, stronger individual will. The question won’t be whether change is happening ,it will be who is brave enough to initiate within it.
5. What’s a recurring life theme you see in your readings right now (love, career pivots, endings, rebirth, boundaries), and how do you help people work with it instead of resisting it?
A recurring theme I’ve seen in my readings over the past several months is around control, health, and the tension between perfectionism and surrender, especially among Virgo rising or Virgo-heavy clients.
This aligns with the South Node moving through Virgo and the North Node in Pisces. Many of these clients are being asked to release hyper-control, over-analysis, and the constant need to optimize themselves. I’ve noticed a strong connection between their mental stress and physical health symptoms which makes sense given Virgo’s association with the body and Mercury’s link to the nervous system.
Rather than encouraging them to “fix” themselves harder, I help them recognize the season they’re in. The nodal axis suggests a shift from micromanagement toward trust, from self-critique toward self-compassion. That doesn’t mean abandoning discernment; it means softening the grip.
In practice, this often looks like helping clients build boundaries around their productivity, reduce mental overexertion, and lean into Piscean themes: rest, creativity, spirituality, emotional processing, or simply allowing life to unfold without constant correction.
When they stop resisting the transition and work with it instead of against it, I often see a noticeable shift, not just in mindset, but in overall wellbeing.
6. When someone comes to you feeling stuck, what part of the chart do you look at first and why? If you do tarot or another practice, tell us about your process for this.
When someone comes to me feeling stuck, I always begin with the natal chart. I read whole sign houses, so I’m immediately orienting myself around the structure of the chart, what each house represents and which planets rule them.
From there, I look at timing. I pay close attention to the nodal axis and whether it’s activating one of the angles (1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th houses), since those periods often correspond with identity shifts, relationship turning points, relocations, or career pivots. I’ll also examine what Saturn, Pluto, and Uranus are doing especially if they’re making aspects to the Moon or Venus. In my experience, the Moon is particularly sensitive; when it’s under pressure, people feel it in a very lived way.
That said, I don’t treat astrology as something to impose onto a client. I use it as a framework for conversation. I ask questions. I listen. Astrology shows the season, but the client tells me how it’s manifesting. From there, we work toward alignment rather than resistance identifying what the chart is asking to mature, release, or restructure.
Feeling “stuck” is often a timing story, not a personal failure.
7. When someone is trying to understand their love life more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?
When someone wants to understand their love life more deeply, I begin with the ruler of the seventh house. The condition of that planet tells me far more than the sign on the cusp alone.
I look at which planet rules the seventh, what sign it is in, what house it occupies, and what aspects it is making. For example, if Saturn rules the seventh house, that immediately suggests themes of maturity, responsibility, and timing in relationships. This can show delayed commitment, partnerships with older or more established individuals, or significant lessons that shape the person before long term union solidifies. I always remind clients that Saturn signifies delay, not denial. It asks for readiness.
From there, I examine the Moon and Venus to understand emotional needs and relational style, and I consider Jupiter as well, particularly when looking at long term partnership themes. I pay attention to recurring patterns between these planets and the seventh house ruler because that is where the deeper narrative reveals itself.
If the client is seeking timing, I expand into predictive work. Venus return charts, solar returns, and major transits help narrow down when relationships are more likely to develop, formalize, or shift into a new chapter.
For me, love astrology is not about predicting a single outcome. It is about understanding the pattern, the season, and how someone can work with their chart rather than feeling confused by it.
8. When someone is trying to understand their career life or work/ purpose more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?
When someone wants to understand their career or sense of purpose more deeply, I start with the second, sixth, and tenth houses. Those three houses tell a layered story about income, daily work, and long term direction.
I look at the signs on those houses, the planets placed within them, and most importantly, the rulers of those houses. Where is the ruler located. What house is it in. What aspects is it making. Is it supported. Is it under pressure. That helps me understand whether someone thrives in structure, autonomy, service oriented work, leadership, research, creative environments, or something else entirely.
The second house speaks to money and resources. The sixth reveals work style and daily obligations. The tenth points to visibility, reputation, and long term ambition. When you analyze how those rulers connect, you can see whether someone’s income aligns with their public path or whether there is tension between what they do every day and what they ultimately want to build.
I also keep the reading conversational. I ask what they are drawn to, what they have tried, and what feels meaningful. If the chart suggests one direction but their interest pulls another way, we explore how to integrate both. Astrology is a map, but free will and lived experience matter.
For timing, I look at solar return charts and key transits to the tenth house and its ruler. I may also examine Venus returns when questions of income, value, and financial shifts are involved. That helps clarify whether the upcoming year supports expansion, restructuring, or consolidation.
Career readings are rarely about a single job. They are about alignment between skills, resources, and long term direction.
9. What’s one small but meaningful practice or reflection you’d recommend people try based on their natal chart or reading?
One small but meaningful practice I recommend is learning to use your chart as a map rather than a label.
Instead of asking, “What does this say about me?” I encourage clients to ask, “What season am I in?” or “What part of my chart is being activated right now?” Even something as simple as tracking transits to your Moon or your chart ruler for a few weeks can build awareness of how timing shows up in your mood, energy, and decisions.
Your natal chart offers context. It shows your tendencies, strengths, sensitivities, and growth edges. When you understand that, you stop personalizing every challenge as a flaw. You begin to see patterns.
Astrology does not remove free will. It offers perspective. The movement of the planets reflects cycles we are already moving through. When you use your chart as a guide, you gain clarity about when to initiate, when to rest, when to restructure, and when to trust the process.
Even small awareness can create major shifts in how someone moves through their life.
